The program is practical for those who frequently have to perform this action when working on the computer, instead of having to access the “Properties” dialog to discover, select and copy paths.
For example, you can use it to find out the target of a desktop shortcut, copy it to the Clipboard and paste it into the URL bar of Windows Explorer to visit its location on the disk. The recorded format is file:///file_path.
Software requirements and context menu integration
The setup process is fast and shouldn't give you any difficulty, since there are no unfamiliar options put at your disposal. The only factor worth noting is that you must have .NET Framework installed since it was developed with the aid of this platform.
The tool creates files in the Program Files directory after installation, but double-clicking the executable doesn't perform any action. Instead, Copy As URL can be accessed by opening the context menu of a selected file or folder. Although its entry is visible even when opening the right-click menu of two or more selected files, the utility's not designed to copy the path of multiple items at the same time.

Copy As URL also creates a desktop shortcut after installation. It can be removed from the context menu of open windows, but that doesn’t affect its visibility.
Copy As URL has an icon in the system tray, as well as a mouse pointer that can be configured so that it becomes invisible. These options are disabled if you select any desktop shortcut, for which the shortcut’s own icon is used.
In order to copy the path of all files and folders to the clipboard you may click the right mouse button while holding down the Shift key. A special window appears, in which you can search for files and folders. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut for this selection.
The application can be automatically opened by other applications that share the same desktop shortcut. If there’s no shortcut associated with the application, it won’t be opened automatically.
The tool can also be used to open system settings with a double-click on the desktop shortcut. In this case, the entire context menu is open.

It automatically integrates with the Open dialogs of standard programs, such as the ones on the user desktop. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow copying the path to the clipboard while the Save Dialog or any other standard dialog is open.
It’s not possible to export the copied path to the clipboard even if there is a dialog open.
