Does anyone know how to get rid of the -Wstack-usage warning? Using the CXXFLAGS environment variable, the warning message does not appear but doing a git pull or similar operation using apt-get brings back the warning.

During the week, the Marine Corps was again tested to see how realistic it could be. Although, this was a little different. The Marines were trained as mountain infantry so they were used to running around in the forests and heavily wooded areas, but during recent operations, training has been conducted in urban areas. Thus, some of the exercises they recently underwent, such as standardizing with amphibious vehicles, were practiced in a less forest environment so more training could be conducted.
As usual, the exercises have been successful, but I must say, we are almost always just a step behind the Army. When I explain to many Marines that there was literally no other branch in the field who was conducting METT-TC exercises, they don’t believe me. Maybe it’s because of the excellent exercises conducted by the Army, such as Rolling Thunder, but other people just don’t seem to have their skills very high. Don’t get me wrong, the Army and the Marines are great, but we are a nation with diverse tactics. So I state that the reason that there is so much diversity in counterinsurgency and conventional warfare, is that “there are many different paths to take until you get there”. There is no one right way to fight. There are many ways to solve problems, and I trust that we will be successful.
That being said, let us explore how and why we should be mobilized and deployed rapidly in urban areas. I have a lot more to say, but for today, I will touch on two things. I will first discuss rapid deployment vehicle for the Marine Corps, and then the man in the street and his standard three points of contact for a successful counterinsurgency.
Simplexity
Standardization is one aspect of METT-TC that is an important aspect of a successful counterinsurgency. If the Marines were allowed to have some amount of flexibility in their vehicle fleet, it would be impossible to properly standardize all vehicular platforms. With that, we can train with some different types of vehicles. METT-TC (and every one of it’s sub-teams) strives for successful, sustainable operations.
This technique of standardization is accomplished by eliminating the deployment and separation of armored personnel carriers from the rest of the small and heavy team. Standardization means putting everything in front of everyone. If vehicles are specific for cargo, communications, a gunner
