West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has written to the prime minister over the brutal murder of a 62-year-old Gorkha youth in West Bengal.
The Press release was issued by Trinamool Congress (TMC) today. It stated that Mamata Banerjee was not in Bengal at the time of the murder.
“The Chief Minister has written to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi over the brutal killing of the Gorkhas of Kolkata on August 8, 2017. The police had issued an alert before the incident,” the release said.
The release also said that a preliminary report of the first information report (FIR) by the police had listed Trinamool Congress party leader Manish Tewari and other Trinamool Congress leaders as suspects for the incident.
The release added that Manish Tewari had filed a defamation case against the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) for accusing him and his party of being “anti-national”.
“Mamata Banerjee has written to the prime minister that it is a matter of shame that at a time when the entire country is reeling under the communal atmosphere, what is happening in Bengal has become a national issue.
