The MNG is short for Multiple-image Network Graphics. This is the name for a type of graphics file format. The MNG format is closely related to its predecessor, PNG (or Portable Network Graphics). The latter is a type of image compression used preponderantly in web design, as it provides a transparent background (e.g. for logos).
Then why the need for MNG? Well, PNG is used for static elements and does not support animated graphics. Basically, an MNG file is a collection of multiple PNGs. Also, the type of MNG files that you could usually find are (most commonly) animations, small slideshows, or complex, multi-frame graphics.
About this program and some advantages and disadvantages
MNGER is a simple program. It is easy to install and requires no configuration or any specific technical knowledge. It is a free resource and the program's installer is super small in size.
This tool is designed for Windows OS and it integrates well on 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, on both newer and older versions of Windows. The app is pretty old and that aspect is one of the reasons it is compatible with older OS versions. Also, the basic requirement for using it is to have the .NET frameworkl installed (it needs .NET Framework 1.1 – 2.0).

How does it work?
