How do I pause, then continue playing audio after a set period of time, in Android?
I have an app that looks at webpages, and I would like the user to be able to scroll through the page and listen to music while they do so (I am looking for an experience similar to the “Binge Mode” feature on Netflix). I found the AudioManager class which looks like what I want, but I can’t figure out how to get it working. I am using the latest Android build, 2.3.3 (API 9)
I am using an OnTouchListener that just checks if the user’s finger is on the screen, and if so, it then makes a MediaPlayer.start() call on a MediaPlayer. I also want to put the MediaPlayer into Pause when the user is holding their finger on the screen, but I can’t figure out how to do that. I am not sure if I need to add another OnTouchListener on top of the one that is already there, or to make the OnTouchListener into a Thread, or to add a new thread altogether, or if there is another way. I am also considering using an AsyncTask, but I have never used one before, so I am not sure how to make it work. Any help on getting this working would be appreciated!
